REVENUE MANAGER
The Revenue Manager will provide revenue recognition accounting guidance, leadership and support to the company. The Revenue Manager will establish and manage VSOE, ensuring appropriate revenue accounting of all contract bookings, sales and marketing programs, channel relationships and provide technical revenue accounting support to Sales and other groups within the company. This position will have complete ownership of the Revenue function and will support the development of a world-class, scalable, global accounting team.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Document revenue contracts and related revenue accounting treatment under current revenue recognition rules and revenue recognition policy
- Create journal entries resulting from reallocation of VSOE and/or revenue deferrals
- Manage and reconcile channel transactions to ensure channel revenue and inventory is accurately reflected
- Manage the channel rebates and non-standard pricing process
- Lead the completion of timely, accurate, and comprehensive revenue reporting
- Work actively with external auditors to ensure that revenue recognition interpretations are consistent and compliant with GAAP
- Implement process improvements in revenue accounting and reporting related areas
- Provide supervision to the Billings and collections accountant and manage the invoicing, collection and accounts receivable
- Perform periodic sales return and bad debt analysis
- Ensure that reconciliations of deferred revenue accounts are completed on a monthly basis
- Participate/lead various special projects
REQUIREMENTS
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, specially in the area of revenue recognition
- Highly skilled in revenue recognition accounting pronouncements as well as applicability to specific transactions for a high growth company with complex structure that includes 2 and 3 tier channels and direct customers
- Strong process re-engineering and workflow management skills
- High-energy, positive attitude
- Has a "“can-do" attitude, excellent follow-through and strong work ethic
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously
- Be detail-oriented and strive for accuracy in reporting
- Possess strong verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to cope with multiple deadlines and work under pressure
- Strong team player willing to 'pitch in' to meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of Oracle
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA preferred
